Ottawa kids looking for relief from the extended heat wave will have one less option as of Tuesday. In a statement, Dan Chenier, general manager of recreation, cultural and facility services, said there are no plans to extend the wading pool or supervised beach season in the city.
Supervised beaches close as of Aug. The city has opened three cooling centres across Ottawa to provide relief from the ongoing heat wave. Temperatures in the 30s and humidity are expected to continue until Thursday. Wading pools in the city opened in late June on a reservation system.
Swimmers could book minute sessions on site at each wading pool location, though they would only have to leave the pool after 30 minutes if the subsequent session was fully booked. A welcome is on its way. If you don't see it, please check your junk folder.
